It's something a little different from my other pencil work.
The shirt is not very detailed, but I tried to focus on his face and on the shading of the picture, so I didn't paid much attention to the details on his shirt.
Perhaps it's because I LOVE Gale Harold, or perhaps it's because you're drawing skills are right up there on "superb", but this caught my eye right away. You say there's not much detail, but I wish I could have the patience, let alone the skill to be as detailed. I tend to thrive off more simplicity and broad, almost anime-style lines, shadowing only when needed. Granted, I don't draw often...which is probably where that skill-lacking thing comes from. My friend keeps telling me to draw a little bit every day, but I find the urge to write (my best skill so far) more often than to draw. But drawings like yours (though I may never get better at realism) only drive that drawing urge to the fore again. Thank you for sharing such beautiful art (of such an exquisite person ). Off to go raid your gallery...
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words. The fact that my drawing makes you feel the urge to draw again makes me feel honoured and satisfied.
Let me tell you, if writting is what you really love, go ahead, and write, but if you like to draw, I'd suggest you to not leave it behind and draw often sure you can develop your style and it will get better and better!!
Thank's a lot for the comment
You're so very welcome! I love making people feel good about themselves and their art, whatever it may be. As a writer, I get a lot of comments about how good I am (professional-quality, apparently [I know I could be better, though]), and I also get a lot of comments that are basically just "good job". I think it's important that we (as in the artist community on the web) get away from those sorts of comments, and focus on constructive criticism, if any, and describing what you like or don't like, or how it made you feel. Though those "good job" sorts of comments are nice too. ^_^
And thanks for the drawing encouragement. I do sometimes feel the urge to draw, especially if I have a strong image in my head that's screaming to be let out. But usually, my skills (after long breaks between drawing) tend to make me more frustrated than anything, so I tend to give up. lol But, my friend helps a lot. She's an amazing artist, and gives me pointers and the like. And while I have to write something every day, she has to draw. I think it's just one of those ingrained things, you know? Where she might always be better as a visual artist than me, I can paint images with words better than she might. (Not that she's terrible at writing of course, I just think we all have our strengths.) I just hope, someday, to feel fairly confident about my drawing skills as well. ^_^ It'll be a nice coupling, I think.
Anyhow, thanks again for the encouragement, and I look forward to seeing more great things from you! (And more Gale Harold! )
I absolutely agree with you, I get a lot of comments that are the "good job" kind of comment, and well I appreciate it, I appreciate every single comment, because that means my work caught the eye of someone I don't even know, and that someone took his time to poast a comment. But when I comment, if I have time, I try to say something more that "great", because that's why we are here, to share opinions, I think...
Oh, I 've seen your friend's gallery and it's quite amazing, she really has got talent, she's got a unique style.
She's the drawer and your the writer then
You just have to do what you like and what you feel, and if it's writting, then write, but again, I encourage you to draw a little everyday, if you like to draw.
i wish i could draw like that..
so glad you like it
